John and Jean Silverwood, authors of "Black Wave", a book about their family's sea voyage which ended in the shipwreck of their catamaran the Emerald Jane, recently visited the Switlik plant to describe their ordeal, and how a  Switlik MD-2 life raft was able to withstand a pounding surf  and assist in their rescue due to its quality exceeding standards and expectations
